Overview
The Salomon Dancehaul is a playful, all-mountain freestyle snowboard with a directional, volume-shifted shape. A board that can carve groomers, float in powder, and still hold its own in the park. And riders have noticed as it’s become one of the most popular boards in Salomon’s line.
The Dancehaul is intended for a wide range of riders due to its approachable flex and Rock Out Camber profile. Intermediate riders can easily perfect their turns, explore trees, get in the air, and cruise through pow. While advanced riders can enjoy its casual, cruisy energy with butters, presses, side-hit tricks, and playful pow runs.
If you’re looking for a fun yet capable, short-wide party board with a directional shape, then the Dancehaul could be for you.

30% Bio-based resin - The bio-epoxy resin is made with 30% of its molecular structure derived from plants.
Ghost Basalt stringers - Basalt stringers sewn into a trial layer for pop, control & a damp ride, as well as improved maneuverability when you’re keeping it mellow.
Popster - The core is strategically milled inside of the insert packs, allowing the board to flex more naturally & transfer energy into the nose & tail for added snap.

Rider review
I rode the 2024/2025 Salomon Dancehaul at Mt. Rose and was immediately impressed with its versatility. It was playful in the park, easy to jib & press, the pop was solid, and it was relatively stable at speed & in variable terrain. It was easy getting in the air off jumps, side hits, and rollers due to the Rock Out Camber, which gave the board a more skate-like feel when initiating ollies and nollies. Meaning the pop was quick and easy to access.
The mid-flex was perfect for a playful ride that can still perform when needed. I particularly noticed the abundance of torsional flex. This made ankle steering and manipulation of the board easy and intuitive. This combined well with the board's radial side-cut, which I felt lock in on turns and delivered smooth circular arcs when carving. The board's extra width is also noticeable here, as heel & toe drag are non-existent when getting up on edge, which I felt contributed to the board’s stable feel. I did find a limit, though, when laying into particularly hard carves at higher speeds where the board would start to wash out a bit. This is likely due to the board's medium flex and intended design, as it’s not meant to be an “aggressive charger.” With that in mind, I felt the Dancehaul excelled on small to medium jumps but is a little unstable for the bigger jumps.
Riding switch felt more natural than I expected; the directional shape was not a hindrance at all, making landing and taking off switch no problem. I also really enjoyed how nimble the Dancehaul felt. Tight trees were not an issue, and short, quick carves across the mountain were a blast. I did not get to ride the Dancehaul in powder, but based on its tapered/volume-shifted design combined with its directional shape, I’d wager it’d easily handle most pow days. It may not be ideal for super deep days, but you’d still be better off on it than you would be on a true twin.
I’d recommend this board to intermediate riders and up who enjoy a more playful ride and like to explore the whole mountain. For those who aren’t planning on charging too hard and who want a shorter ride that’s still stable and capable.
