Overview

The Salomon Huck Knife is an all-mountain freestyle & park snowboard designed for intermediate riders and up. This is a top selling, flagship model from Salomon that has built a track record of performance and fun. As the name implies, the Huck Knife will huck you off any lip and then cut into the snow like a knife on the take-off and landing.

With a predominant camber profile, snap and edge hold come naturally with the deck. While the Suspension Royal Rubber Pads help dampen the ride and soften those big landings. The Huck Knife comes in at a mid-flex, which makes it extremely versatile for a variety of riders and styles. A perfect balance of play and precision so you can ride anything however you want.

The true-twin shape and sintered base keeps the Huck Knife moving fast and ready to land or take-off switch at a moment’s notice. The Salomon Huck Knife is for fearless riders who wanna go big and never go home. For those that wanna spend time in the park as well as on the mountain seeking out side-hits and natural kickers. If that sounds like you, then the Huck Kife may be your perfect shred tool this winter.

Rider review

After riding the 2024/2025 Salomon Huck Knife my main take aways for this board were pop & edge hold. There is a noticeable amount of camber in the board with a subtle amount of rocker in the nose and tail, which delivers superb pop and edge hold. The flex was around the middle of the road, so by no means overwhelming, and it felt like that perfect balance of play and stability. Meaning I could set down a press or butter if I wanted, or carve up some hard groomers in the morning with confidence.

There is a lot of hype around the Huck Knife and I can see why, it simply performs. Whether in the park or sending side hits, I felt very confident in my ability to boost, land, and ride with speed. The almost full camber profile may feel a little hooky at first if you are not familiar with camber. But you’ll get the hang of it fairly quickly as the mid-flex and slight rocker in the nose and tail will help smooth out that learning curve.

This board felt right at home on jibs; there were no issues there. But where this snowboard truly shined was on the jump line. The pop off the lip felt solid, the airtime was lingering, and the landings were stable. It's not a struggle to get in the air at all, and it's a ton of fun to send it off side hits and rollers as well.

This board felt fairly nimble, so small excursions into the trees shouldn’t be an issue. I didn’t get to ride this board in any powder, so I can’t say much about how it would perform there, but based on the twin shape and camber dominant profile, it wouldn’t be my first choice for a pow day.

I’d recommend this board to intermediate riders and up who are looking to get into freestyle and ride the park. More so to those looking to hit the jump line more often than rails, although it can handle both. This board will handle a variety of jumps, from small to large. However, if you spend all of your time on the big jump line, then I’d consider the Huck Knife Pro for a bit more stability.

I had a lot of fun on the Huck Knife and its another solid choice from Salomon that’d be a great addition to any freestyle rider’s quiver.
