Green Hour
Snowsports and Scandinavian Mythology have a long-standing history. Going all the way back to Ullr, the Norse God of Snow, Archery, and the Hunt. Ullr was known to be an excellent skier, making him the “Patron God” for modern-day skiers and snowboarders.
The Northern Lights were seen dancing and flowing across the skies by early Scandinavians and were interpreted as the Bifröst, the “burning bridge” of the Gods to cross between Earth(Midgard) and Asgard. A key piece of Norse Mythology — that I’m sure Ullr still uses today!
Green Hour by Monster Energy does an exceptional job of joining modern snowboarding with nature and snowsports' magical ancestral roots in Scandinavia.
Featuring Norwegian pro riders Ståle Sandbech and Torgeir Bergrem; as well as Finnish pro rider Rene Rinnekangas. These pro riders took up the challenge of snowboarding under the Northern Lights in the harsh winter conditions of Tromsø, Norway. Despite the conflicts of COVID-19, the Olympics, and other challenges, they still accomplished their vision! And they did not disappoint!
Green Hour is a magical trip of courageous and beholden riding through the dark yet glowing nights of Norway.
But rather than listen to me ramble about inspiring shredding, check it out for yourselves below and step into the Green Hour:
