Overview

As stated in its name, the Jones Flagship is the model child for big mountain boards from Jones. This mid-stiff, directional twin, freeride machine can handle the entire mountain from piste to peak. The directional camrock profile delivers the best of both worlds to handle soft or hard snow. The early-rise rocker in the nose & tail, combined with the 12.5mm taper, enables effortless powder float. While the camber between the feet maintaines stability, edge hold, and snap. The Traction Tech 3.0 provides superior edge hold in icy or hardpack conditions. The 3D spoon-contoured base creates easier turn initiation and exit, adding to the board’s powder navigation prowess. So whether you are carving groomers, exploring trees, or hunting powder, this board has got you covered.

PROFILE

3d shaping

  • 3D Contour Base 3.0 - Featuring a balanced 7mm of spoon bevel in the nose and 7mm of spoon bevel in the tail. Spoon bevel starts at the rocker point.

  • Flip-Flop Base - Producing two or more base color options minimizes p-tex waste. Order may be filled with either color. Color does not vary by size.

Sintered 9900 Base - Made with Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE) and Carbon. This ultra-fast base is easy to repair thanks to the UHMW-PE.

  • 2 x 4 Insert Pattern

Float Pack Inserts – Float Pack Inserts give you the option of a super setback stance for better float on those deep days.

  • Progressive Sidecut - The radius is incrementally increased at the outer ends of the sidecut as the edge reaches the contact points. Gradually increasing the sidecut radius towards the contact points delivers smoother turn initiation and exit as the edge tracks in and out of the snow with a less abrupt transition.

  • V-Core - This wood core is softer between the feet, delivering better torsional flex for easy turn initiation. The wood core is contrarily stiffer in the nose and tail for improved stability when riding through uneven terrain and landing airs.

Power Core -Triple-density full wood core featuring hardwood bamboo stringers for added pop and durability plus paulownia for reduced weight.

  • Sustainable Flax / Basalt Stringers – Jones exclusive sustainable stringers are made with 100% natural fibers. Composite Flax and Basalt stringers help to transfer power to the edges more efficiently and improve torsional response while absorbing chatter.

Triax Fiberglass – These multi-axis, stitched fiberglass laminates offer a precise and more responsive ride.

Bio Resin - A bio-based epoxy made with 27% plant-based carbon instead of petroleum-based carbon. The organic raw materials used to make bio-resin are co-products or waste products of plant-based industrial processes. Bio-resin requires 33% less greenhouse gas emissions to produce than conventional epoxy.

  • Recycled ABS Sidewalls - Jones improves the sustainability of their snowboards by using only recycled plastic.

  • Traction Tech 3.0 - This edge tech features three bumps per edge at the front binding, board center, and back binding. The middle bump is slightly larger than the binding bumps for better grip.

Oversized recycled edges - for added durability and improved sustainability.

  • Engineered Wood Veneer - Composite wood veneer topsheets that helps to dampen the ride and absorb chatter.

  • Classic Wood Design - Like all Jones boards the graphic calls back to the mountains and trees that allow us to ride the white wave year after year.

  • Factory Tuned – Jones snowboards are factory de-tuned at the tip and tail to alleviate any “hooky” tendencies.

Wend Natural Wax – Jones boards are factory waxed with WEND natural wax.

Forever Flex - A manufacturing process that helps stabilize the flex of the board for its lifetime.

Rider review

I rode the 2024/2025 Jones Flagship earlier this year at Brighton Resort, and right out the gate, I really enjoyed how well this board carved. You can feel the traction tech & camber between the feet work together to aggressively bite into the snow for tight turns or long, drawn-out carves. While the progressive sidecut, taper, and 3D spoon shaping seamlessly combine to smooth out the entry & exit transitions in & out of turns. When it comes to flex, the Flagship was actually softer than I was expecting. The extended early-rise rocker in the nose makes the nose feel playful & pressable, while the V-Core wood profiling keeps the board's midsection flexible, providing a noticeable amount of torsional flex. Most of the rigidity I found in the tail of the board, powering me through turns and supporting me through the deep stuff.

With that said, I actually found this board to be rather approachable for a wide range of riders from intermediate up to advanced. This was a surprise to me as this board is typically thought of as a more advanced board, but if you are an intermediate rider who wants to get into the freeride world, then I wouldn’t hesitate to grab a Flagship. Additionally, I felt this board had decent pop and could easily get in the air off side hits and stick the landings, even in rough terrain. Spins were also doable as well as casual presses, giving this board some all-mountain freestyle props. Sadly, I did not get to ride this board in super deep snow, but from how easily I blew through the pow stashes I found, I think you could count on almost effortless float with this snowboard.
