Overview
One of the most popular snowboards in the Jones lineup, if not THE most popular, is the Jones Mountain Twin. An all-mountain freestyle twin that floats, jumps, and bites. Jones’ 3D shaping (i.e., spoon tech) is present in the nose and tail, providing ease of entry in and out of turns as well as float in deep snow. Turn ease and float are amplified even more with the camrock profile, adding rocker in the nose and tail. Making the Mountain Twin forgiving and playful.
All that play is then balanced out with camber between the feet for pop, edge hold, and stability. The edge bite is then increased further by adding Jones’ traction tech—additional contact points for grip on ice and hard-pack snow. This creates an extremely well-balanced and versatile snowboard that can carve, ride the park, and take on pow days. The mid-flex reinforces the focus on versatility, while the Freeride/Freestyle inserts allow you to change binding placement for a more set-back stance on those surprise pow days.
Overall, you really can’t go wrong with the Mountain Twin. It’s a great choice for intermediate riders and up who enjoy riding the whole mountain as much as the park. A board for going fast, throwing spins, getting in the air, and exploring the whole mountain.
PROFILE
3d shaping
-
3D Contour Base 2.0 - Moderate 3D Contour Base in the nose and tail for fast glide & fluid turn initiation
-
Flip-Flop Base - Producing two or more base color options minimizes p-tex waste. Order may be filled with either color. Color does not vary by size.
Sintered 8000 Base - Super durable material made from Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE) & carbon. Easily repairable, wax absorbent & ultra fast.
-
2 x 4 Insert Pattern
Freeride/Freestyle Pack Inserts – Gives you the option of a super setback stance for better float on those deep days.
-
Progressive Sidecut - The radius is incrementally increased at the outer ends of the sidecut as the edge reaches the contact points. Gradually increasing the sidecut radius towards the contact points delivers smoother turn initiation and exit as the edge tracks in and out of the snow with a less abrupt transition.
-
Control Core - Dual-density full wood core featuring a 2 to 1 paulownia to poplar stringer ratio that keeps the core light and super damp.
-
Biax Fiberglass - A two-direction, dual-layer, stitched fiberglass laminate that provides a fun, forgiving yet snappy ride.
Bio Resin - A bio-based epoxy made with 27% plant-based carbon instead of petroleum-based carbon. The organic raw materials used to make bio-resin are co-products or waste products of plant-based industrial processes. Bio-resin requires 33% less greenhouse gas emissions to produce than conventional epoxy.
-
Recycled ABS Sidewalls - Jones improves the sustainability of their snowboards by using only recycled plastic.
-
Traction Tech 3.0 - This edge tech features three bumps per edge at the front binding, board center, and back binding. The middle bump is slightly larger than the binding bumps for better grip.
Oversized recycled edges - for added durability and improved sustainability.
Factory Tuned - De-tuned at the tip & tail so you can go right to the mountain.
-
Eco-plastic topsheet - Bio-plastic topsheet that is made from Castor beans. This eco-material is ultralight, chip/scratch resistant & water/snow repellent.
-
Wend Natural Wax – Jones boards are factory waxed with WEND natural wax.
Forever Flex - A manufacturing process that helps stabilize the flex of the board for its lifetime.

Rider review
I rode the 2024/2025 Jones Mountain Twin at Brighton Resort in UT and had a blast. It truly lives up to its reputation as a board you can take anywhere on the mountain. I started with some fast-paced carving down groomers and felt locked in on turns. The Traction Tech and camber really bite into the snow, but without feeling hooky. Rolling in and out of carves felt very fluid due to the rocker and 3D shaping, which helped the board feel quick edge to edge as well.
The flex felt a touch past middle-of-the-road, which gave me more stability at speed and confidence when landing larger jumps and side hits. Although the 3D shaping is minimal, I could still feel it while carving and spinning. There’s an element of “catch free energy”; if you come up a little short on a spin or want to make a last-minute turn, the board just does it without fighting you or getting hung up.
The camber between the feet does its job, as the pop is solid and easily accessible. Nothing extraordinary, but not lackluster either, right around what you’d expect. The ride did get a little bumpy off-piste in rough, hard snow, but the board got me through. I did not get to ride the Mountain Twin in powder, but I’d wager it could hold its own, especially with a set back stance.
This board wouldn’t be my first choice for jibing due to its slightly stiffer flex, but I had no issues in the park. Presses and butters are also doable, but once again, due to the flex, you’ll have to put a little more weight into it. But it is definitely still butterable and pressable, especially with the rocker giving you a bigger sweet spot in the nose and tail, and the 3D shaping helping you to avoid catching an edge.
I’d recommend this snowboard to strong beginners and those who truly want to ride the whole mountain with a freestyle flair. If you are a dedicated park rider, then there are boards out there that are better suited for that. However, if you would like to ride the whole mountain as your park, then the Jones Mountain Twin would be a great choice. If you are still learning to ride and link turns, then I would wait on this one, as I think it can still be a little much for a new rider.
