Overview
Imagine the Ride Deep Fake but mellowed out just a tad, and voila, you have the Ride Moderator! The more playful little brother to the Deep Fake. The same taper, setback, directionality, and all-mountain capability in a more mellow package. This is the new “hotness” from Ride as a brand new unisex board to their line for those who love to “free the ride” with “freestyle flair.”
Rocking extra camber between the feet, you won’t find yourself lacking in pop or edge hold. A slight rocker in the nose combined with almost 2 cm of setback and 6 mm of taper will keep you floating on deep days. The directional twin shape will allow you to ride the switch with ease for laps in the park and side hit sends. The softer flex is key in making this board more approachable for intermediate and even beginner riders. It also makes the pop easier to access and carves easier to initiate and control.
If you’re an intermediate rider looking for an all-mountain board you can ride anywhere, or a more advanced rider looking for a more playful freeride deck, then don’t sleep on this new quiver killer, the Ride Moderator.

-
High-end sintered 4000 Ptex base material that’s durable, harder, & faster than extruded.
-
2x4 Insert Pattern.
-
LINEAR QUADRATIC SIDECUT - A directional sidecut with Quadratic curvature from the nose to the rear insert pack, then progressing into a linear section through the tail. This creates smooth, catch-free turn initiation & support through turns without losing grip.
-
PERFORMANCE LIGHT CORE - High-strength Aspen & lightweight Paulownia wood to provide a perfect balance of strength & weight reduction.
IMPACT PLATES LAMINATES - Added under each binding area to improve compressive strength & prevent board damage.
-
CARBON ARRAY LAMINATES - Widespread carbon stringers placed at the binding zones that gather input from any stance width & all applied pressure angles. Rider input is channeled to the opposing contact point, delivering maximum board control.
HYBRID PRE-CURED GLASS - Triax glass on top with biax glass below. For reliable and balanced torsional flex for greater response at speed.
-
METAL SLIM WALL - Utilizes full-length Titanal Aluminum strips laminated into a urethane composite sandwich. Providing superior edge hold, more efficient energy transfer, & exceptional durability. Metal Slim Walls dampen vibration & maintain edge-hold while providing a playful flex pattern & responsive snap between turns. This technology is the first of its kind in the industry & solidifies RIDE as the leader in 3D & composite sidewall design.

Rider review
The 2024/2025 Ride Moderator was a blast to ride! I test-rode the Moderator right after riding the Deep Fake which helped me to feel out the differences. For example, when carving, the torsional rigidity actually feels quite similar, which helps with stability on turns and riding at speed. However, the tip-to-tail flex is definitely taken down on the Moderator, which makes the pop easier to access, but the rebound is still solid due to the extra camber profile. The healthy amount of camber between the feet also gave great edge hold; I never felt like I was gonna slip out on turns.
The taper on the Moderator is noticeable as the tail doesn’t fight you on hard turns but rather “comes around” more naturally. While the rocker in the nose helps you skip over inconsistencies in the snow. This combination of the taper and slight rocker gives you a more confident feeling when riding in rougher terrain and at higher speeds. Yet, riding switch is still extremely doable and is not an issue when adding in some freestyle flair.
The Moderator also felt a touch more nimble than the Deep Fake, making it easier to ride in trees and tight places. However, it felt a bit less stable when hitting larger drops, not that it wasn’t stable, it just wasn’t as solid as the Deep Fake for those bigger sends.
I’d recommend this board to intermediate riders who want an all-mountain board that can handle powder, trees, carvy groomer laps, and the occasional park lap. I think advanced riders would also have a blast on this board if they want something a bit more mellow but still very capable. It wouldn’t be my first choice for a beginner, but if you’re a beginner who is progressing quickly and wants to invest in a board that will last as you progress through intermediate to advanced, then the Moderator is a great option.
